Why Choose Tomorrow Energy?
Tomorrow Energy aims to be active stewards in their local communities with sustainability as a central core value. For example, in April 2019, they announced that they plan to plant over 80,000 trees through the Arbor Day Foundation. Their leading electricity product, "EarthCare 16" includes a recurring plant-a-tree feature that plants one tree every three months from their customer’s sign-up day. This tree planting feature provides a tangible sustainable action for their customers to contribute to environmental sustainability.
At the 12th semi-annual Energy Marketing Conference in September 2019, Tomorrow Energy won the "Leadership and Integrity Award". The nominees were all retail energy companies who showcased fine leadership qualities, the highest level of ethics, and benefited their customers, community, and environment. Tomorrow Energy was recognized for its new organization built on a 100% renewables focus and for its transformed company culture, values, and ethics.
How do Renewable Plans Benefit the Environment?
Renewable energy, or green energy, is any resource that replenishes itself in a short amount of time and does not diminish. The use of renewable energy lowers dependence on unsustainable resources such as coal or oil and helps create a greener future. These sources are generally better for the environment than conventional resources because they do not release greenhouse gases that contribute to global warming. Green energy is known to have little to no negative environmental impact.
Here are a few examples of renewable energy sources/
- Solar
- Wind
- Hydropower
- Biomass
- Geothermal
When you enroll in a 100% renewable plan, your chosen provider purchases renewable energy certificates (REC's) on your behalf. REC's allow electricity providers and utilities to offset their customers’ energy usage by purchasing renewable energy. This means by signing up for a 100% renewable plan, you are ensuring more renewable power is being generated in your area and entering the energy grid.
