About Energy Plus
Energy Plus was first founded in 2007, well after electricity deregulation went into effect in most states. However, since then the company has grown to as many as 150,000 customers across the country. Late in 2011, NRG Energy purchased Energy Plus, giving the electricity provider access to even more resources and helping to speed its growth even further.
Based out of Philadelphia, Energy Plus is one of the fastest-growing electricity providers in the country. The company started only recently and has already grown to serve almost all of the states that have implemented electricity deregulation, starting with New York, but expanding to include much of the Northeast, Illinois, and Texas.
While they look to provide its customers with low electricity rates, the company has also placed a heavy emphasis on offering improved customer service and making a more personal fit for its customers.
Energy Plus Electricity Services
Energy Plus offers a variable electricity rate, which allows customers to take advantage of low fuel prices, and adds no penalty for canceling services, so people can continue to shop around if they want.
At the same time, the electricity supplier offers a wide variety of rewards programs just for paying bills. These programs range from cash-back to deals on hotels and airfare, letting customers choose what matters most to them.
The electricity company also offers customers the opportunity to invest in green energy as well. Energy Plus supports renewable electricity through so-called renewable energy certificates (RECs), which represent the production of clean energy. Customers can pay a small surcharge to support renewables, Energy Plus will then purchase RECs from wind farms, helping to encourage the development of more wind energy.
