PECO Energy Helps Customers save $500 Million

With PECO’s Smart Ideas program, Pennsylvania residents have saved more than half a billion dollars. This half a billion dollars comes in the form of energy savings, incentives and rebates offers by PECO. Through a number of energy efficient activities such as installing ENERGY STAR® appliances, using more efficient lightbulbs and performing energy assesments, PECO customers have saved close to 2.2 million MWH of electricity since 2009.

“Now in their seventh year, we are thrilled these innovative programs continue to meet the needs of our customers,” said Craig Adams, PECO president and CEO to News Channel 10. “We look forward to offering even more programs as we continue to provide our customers with safe, reliable, affordable and clean energy and energy services.”

All of these customer energy savings has been driven by PECO’s Smart Ideas program. The Smart Ideas initiative, which launched in 2009, is made up of a total of 15 programs ranging from recycling old appliances to saving on energy by switching your home over to natural gas. By using these 15 Smart Idea programs, customers have seen $103 million in energy incentives, $103 million in rebates and more than $298 million by cutting down on their home or business energy usage.  With customers truly enjoying these great energy savings, PECO Eneregy has received 10 industry awards .
