GDF Suez Energy taps new CEO

Author: Adam Cain | Updated:

GDF Suez Energy Resources, one of the biggest retail energy providers in the country, announced on October 5 that the company had brought on Sam Henry as the new chief executive officer of the firm.

Henry took over for former CEO Robert Wilson, who recently took on the role of president and chief executive officer of GDF Suez Gas NA Holdings. Henry takes the helm with more than 30 years of experience in the energy sector, and will be tasked with performing the commercial optimization of the company’s North American power generation enterprise.

“I look forward to assuming this new role and to leading a truly great company into the future,” said Henry. “While challenging, the competitive retail electricity market is full of opportunities, and I am confident we have a team in place that can maximize those opportunities by continuing to provide the level of service that our customers have come to expect from a top-tier organization like GDF SUEZ Energy Resources.”

Retail providers such as GDF Suez are growing at a tremendous rate, leading many to perform upper level reorganizations to better cope with the demand that come with larger companies.
