TXU Energy is spreading the message across Dallas and Fort Worth this summer that they can beat the heat and save money with the programs available to customers.

While participating alongside the Visiting Nurse Association and Meals On Wheels, Inc., the energy provider announced the ways customers can save at the company’s 14th annual “Beat the Heat” discussion.

The three organizations are working together to ensure all customers remain cool and safe, and save money this summer.

“With the heat as extreme as it is here in Dallas-Fort Worth, it’s crucial to foster awareness and understanding about the physical and financial risks that can accompany our summer temperatures,” said Kelli Rod, vice president of community affairs at TXU Energy. “…We are pointing consumers to the solutions, tips and support they can use to keep their health and household budgets safe this summer.”

Since 2002, energy customers in Texas have been able choose their preferred retail electricity provider, creating a highly competitive energy market. This has led companies to develop cost-saving initiatives to attract new customers and retain existing ones, as they can switch providers as they see fit.
