Texas retail electricity provider TXU Energy has once again expanded its offerings to help customers control their electricity usage digitally.

TXU Energy introduced its MyEnergy Dashboard years ago to give customers information about their electricity usage, then last year added the TXU Energy Mobile App to give people access to their energy usage everywhere.

Now the company has added its Brighten iThermostat, an electronic thermostat with innovative and detailed controls to help customers better manage their energy usage throughout the year. The new thermostat can be programmed to control air-conditioning and heating, helping to lower electricity bills in the summer when temperatures go through the roof.

"At TXU Energy, we know that our customers care about saving electricity and money," Michael Grasso, chief marketing officer at TXU Energy, said in a statement. "That’s why we continue to develop and deliver innovations that give our customers more convenient ways to take control of how and how much electricity they use."

The Brighten iThermostat can be installed at no cost in any home with a high-speed internet connection, and the electricity provider estimates customers could save as much as $360 just on the standard settings.
