TXU Energy recently announced it had completely revamped its Android smartphone app, which came only weeks after it put out its iPhone application and the company's newly optimized mobile website.
The app, which can be downloaded for free in the Android Play Store, makes it easier than ever for TXU Energy customers to connect with the retail energy provider via their smartphones. The program allows users to manage accounts, edit payment options and even adjust their thermostats while they are out of the home.
"The new app reflects TXU Energy’s commitment to providing electricity customers with self-service capabilities and innovation via the Web-based and wireless devices they already use day-to-day," the company said in statement. "It is also the company’s latest step in serving a growing mobile customer base."
In 2011, TXU Energy became the first retail energy provider in Texas to offer an app for iPhones, which came soon after the company launched its mobile website, which is reportedly the first such website of its kind in the country.
Texas' energy market experienced a profound shift in 2002, when regulators implemented deregulation laws that greatly increased competition. Since that time, independent providers have worked hard to ensure great customer service, often through rewards programs and technology updates.
