A retail energy provider operating in Texas was recently ranked among the top three providers in a survey conducted by J.D. Power and Associates, further demonstrating that Texas' competitive electric market is keeping customers pleased.
StarTex Power, a retail electric provider based in Houston that operates under the umbrella of Constellation Energy, recently announced that it was ranked 3rd among the best retail energy companies operating in Texas when it came to overall customer satisfaction. The ranking was a a part of J.D. power and Associates 2012 Texas Residential Retail Electric Provider Customer Satisfaction Survey.
The new J.D. Power and Associates study looked at the levels of customer satisfaction by weighing four different factors against how happy a customer was with their service. These factors included pricing, billing and payment, communications and customer service.
The accolade comes after StarTex Power was awarded a long list of titles that stem from both customer satisfaction as well as employee feedback. In 2011, the independent electric provider was recognized by the Better Business Bureau, and received the organization's highest honor for superior commitment to ethics, excellence and quality in the workplace. The company was then awarded the same title again in 2012, showing the sustainability of the company's operating plans.
StarTex is the only retail energy provider in the state to win the BBB's Pinnacle Award two consecutive times.
What's more, the company has also been given an "A+" rating from the greater Houston and South Texas Better Business Bureau, which raised the company from its previous rating of "A." Since 2008, StarTex has been named the "Best Place to Work in Houston" four times.
"We are honored to be rated highly by our customers and J.D. Power and Associates for customer satisfaction – a trait that truly sets our company apart from the competition," said Bruce Stewart, senior vice president and chief marketing officer, Constellation. "This rating demonstrates our dedication to providing our customers with not only competitive rates, but also friendly people and outstanding customer service. We want to thank our customers for their support, and we look forward to serving them in the years to come."
Texas' retail energy market has fostered a strong competitive electricity environment, which has led many companies to head south to set up shop inside Texas' borders.
