PPL Electric customers are experiencing more reliable service in 2015. During the first six months of 2015, nearly 200,000 power outages were prevented by PPL. This is all due to PPL investing in their delivery system, making it more reliable than ever. More than $1 billion per year has been invested by this company in making their service reliable for its over 3 million customers. This includes putting in stronger wires and poles, getting better at keeping trees and branches away from power lines and installing smart grid technology.

This all has led to customers experiencing, on average, 20% fewer power outages than they experienced in 2007. With PPL fully invested in this project, it is projected that customers will experience at least another 20% increase in reliability in the next five years.
