With a recent settlement filed with the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission, PECO customers can expect to pay a higher electric delivery rate in the new year. A typical bill for a residential customer would likely increase by $4.17 a month while bills for both a typical small and larger business would increase by $17.02 and $432.32 a month respectively.
This $127 million rate increase as well as the settlement is still waiting the approval of the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission. PECO has stated that the increase in rates is to allow for continued funding of projects such as upgrading infrastructure, replacing out-dated equipment and improving the customer service experience.
