Liberty Power, currently the largest retail electric provider in the nation, announced on July 12, 2012, that Hispanic Business Inc. had also named it the largest Hispanic-owned energy company, and the eighth-largest Hispanic-owned business overall.

The company earned the reward by bringing $655 million in revenues in 2011, making it larger than its competitors by a wide margin and accounting for more than 36 percent of total revenues for the top 10 Hispanic-owned energy companies. In 2009, the first year the rankings were published, Liberty Power reported revenues of $302 million, and ranked 21st on the list.

"Liberty Power is honored to be recognized as the top energy company and the eighth largest Hispanic-owned company on this distinguished list. We would like to thank our team members, our customers, and our business partners. Our achievements over the last decade have been a direct result of working together," said David Hernandez, CEO of Liberty Power.

Liberty Power operates in several states with energy deregulation laws in place, and has a total customer base of more than 170,000, including large and small businesses and residential customers.
