Houston’s GDF Suez Energy Resources, one of the largest retail electricity providers in the country, announced on October 8 that it will host its fifth annual ERCOT Energy Seminar on October 15 in Sugarland, Texas.

The energy company, which gives Texas commercial and industrial electricity customers the opportunity to buy power at some of the best electricity rates in the state, said this year’s event will include an optional golf game in the afternoon. The outing will occur after several prominent speakers touch on the state of electricity in Texas.

“GDF SUEZ Energy Resources is committed to being a knowledge leader in our industry, and this year’s seminar reinforces that focus,” said  Sam Henry, president and chief executive officer of GDF Suez. “We have broadened both the scope and the subject areas, not only examining matters of importance to our customers in Texas, but also adding some fascinating topics in math and science. I am confident that participants will come away with greater insight and understanding on a range of concerns vital to their operations.”

By working with ERCOT, or the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, GDF is helping the public understand market fundamentals and updating ratepayers on the actions of the ISO.
