StarTex Power recognized with BBB’s customer service award

Retail electric provider StarTex Power was recently awarded  the Better Business Bureau’s Winner of Distinction Award, which was given to the company for its excellence in customer service.

“StarTex Power is honored to again be recognized for our quality customer care,” said Marcie Zlotnik, co-founder of StarTex Power and retail policy director for Constellation Energy, a business arm of parent company Exelon. “Our employees are our greatest asset. They go out of their way to give our customers the star treatment with prompt, friendly personal service.”

The award was given to StarTex for the company’s achievements and overall commitment to quality in the retail energy market. The honor was presented at a recent Better Business Bureau Education Foundation event, which raised funds for the organization to help educate Houston-area customers about fraudulent business practices.

StarTex, which was recently acquired by Constellation, has also been named the fastest-growing retail energy provider in the country by Inc. Magazine.

Energy deregulation has created a competitive electricity market, in which many companies vie for such accolades to help promote their business. This competition has also led to lower electricity rates, as well as many incentives offered by various companies.
