PECO Launches $3 Million Tree-Trimming Program
Montgomery County, PA – A $3.3 million vegetation management program is being launched by PECO to improve electrical service for 32,000 customers in the county. This vegetation management program will include trimming and removing trees and vegetation along 395 miles of electric lines.
“Vegetation growth causes about one-third of all electric outages,” John McDonald, vice president of Technical Services, said in a press release. “Preventive pruning around aerial power lines is vital to safely keeping the lights on for our customers.”
Work will begin this month and end in Decemeber. The areas effected will be West Conshohocken Borough, Upper Merion, Radnor, Tredyffrin, Plymouth, Easttown and Lower Merion.
