Today, August 11th is National Dig Day. PECO would like to remind all customers and contractors to call 811 before you dig. Whether you are building a house or planting a row of trees it is very important to call 811 before you start your project. By calling 811, you are connected to PA One Call which will then notify your utility of the dig. The utilities require at least 3 business days notice so they have time to come out and mark their underground facilities.
According to the Common Ground Alliance, every six minutes someone damages an underground utility by digging so be sure to call 811 before digging.
